Opening SLGA Reports (SK Compliance Report)

This article provides valuable guidance on handling CSV files. To preserve their original formatting, it is advisable to avoid opening them directly in Excel. Below, we outline the best practices for maintaining the formatting of CSV files.

Below are the steps to open Compliance Report from SK (SLGA)

Instead of opening the files in Excel, the best option is to open them in a program like Notepad.  Copy contents of the file and then paste the contents in Excel using the Text Import Wizard (accessible if you click on the arrow below the Paste button).

Select ‘Delimited’ and ‘My data has headers.’

Delimiter type selected should be ‘Comma.’

Click on the Timestamp column and click ‘Text.’  Repeat this for the Transaction ID and GTIN columns.  Eventually these should look like this:

Click ‘Finish.’  The data should now be in Excel in the correct format.  Once you’re done editing you’ll need to save the file as a comma-delimited .csv file.  Once saved and closed you will not be able to open the file without impacting formatting.  If further edits are needed they can be made in Notepad or by following the above steps again. You can also identify any needed edits in Excel and then make any necessary edits in Notepad directly – which might be less of a headache on the formatting front.
