Hourly Sales Averaged Report

The Hourly Sales Averaged report provides a breakdown of average sales performance by hour for a selected date range and branch. Instead of showing totals for a single day, this report averages the values across all days in the selected range. This helps identify typical sales patterns, peak hours, and quieter periods, making it useful for staffing, promotions, and operational planning.

How the Report Works

  • The system groups all transactions by hour of day (e.g., 9:00–10:00, 10:00–11:00).

  • For each hour, metrics are averaged across all days included in the date range.

  • The report reflects the typical performance per hour, not a single day’s totals.

Report Filters

At the top of the report, you can define:

  • Start Date / End Date – The date range used to calculate hourly averages.

  • Branch – The store location the data is pulled from.

Once selected, click View Report to generate results or Download CSV to export the data.

Table Columns Explained

Hour

The time window for each row (e.g., 14:00 – 15:00). Each row represents the average performance during that hour.

NetQuan (Average Net Quantity)

The average number of items sold per day during that hour.

NetSale (Average Net Sales)

The average net sales value ($) generated during that hour.

Cost (Average Cost)

The average cost of goods sold during that hour.

Profit (Average Profit)

Calculated as:

Profit = Net Sales – Cost

This shows the average profit earned during that hour.

GP (Gross Profit %)

The average gross margin percentage for that hour.

GP% = (Profit / Net Sales) × 100

Total Row

The Total row at the bottom summarizes the overall averages across all hours in the selected range.

AG Grid: Filtering & Sorting

The table uses AG Grid, which provides powerful filtering and sorting tools directly in the column headers.

Column Sorting

  • Click a column header once to sort ascending.

  • Click again to sort descending.

  • Click a third time to clear sorting.

  • You can sort by any numeric or text column (e.g., NetSale, Profit, GP%).

Column Filters

Each column has a filter input beneath the header:

  • Text Filters (e.g., Hour)

    • Type part of the value to filter results.

    • Example: typing 14 will show only 14:00 – 15:00.

  • Number Filters (NetQuan, NetSale, Cost, Profit, GP%)

    • Filter by values greater than, less than, or equal to a number.

    • Example: show only hours where NetSale is greater than $400.

Clearing Filters

  • Clear the text or number field to remove a filter.

  • Sorting and filtering can be combined for deeper analysis.
