This is useful for products sold in multiple weights or sizes and gives customers a simpler shopping experience while keeping each product separately managed in TechPOS. #### Overview The **Product Variant for SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0)** feature automatically groups products with the same **Display Name** into one product listing on the e-commerce menu. This is mainly used for products that are the same item but sold in different sizes, weights, or package formats. For example, instead of showing the same product multiple times on the website, TechPOS can show one product card with selectable options such as: - 1g - 3.5g - 7g - 14g This creates a cleaner customer experience and makes the online menu easier to browse. #### How Product Variants Work In SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0), products are grouped together automatically when they have the same **Display Name**. When multiple products share the same Display Name, TechPOS treats them as variants of the same product and displays them as one product on the website. Each product can still have its own: - SKU - Barcode - Weight or size - Price - Inventory quantity - Product details The grouping only affects how the products are displayed on SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0). It does not merge products inside the POS. #### Example ### Without Product Variants If products have different Display Names, they will appear as separate product cards on the website. Example: | Product | Display Name | Website Display | | --- | --- | --- | | Product A - 1g | Blue Dream 1g | Separate product | | Product A - 3.5g | Blue Dream 3.5g | Separate product | | Product A - 7g | Blue Dream 7g | Separate product | In this case, the customer sees multiple product cards for what is essentially the same product. ### With Product Variants If the products have the same Display Name, they will appear as one product with multiple weight or size options. Example: | Product | Display Name | Website Display | | --- | --- | --- | | Product A - 1g | Blue Dream | One product with 1g option | | Product A - 3.5g | Blue Dream | One product with 3.5g option | | Product A - 7g | Blue Dream | One product with 7g option | The customer sees one clean product card and can choose the option they want from the product page. #### Where Variants Appear on the Website Product variants can appear in two areas of SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0): ### 1. Product Listing Page On the main menu or category page, products with the same Display Name will be grouped into one product card. Customers will see the available size or weight options instead of duplicate product listings. ### 2. Product Detail Page When a customer opens the product, they can select from the available variants directly on the product detail page. Each variant can have its own pricing and inventory availability. #### How to Set Up Product Variants Product variants are controlled by the **Display Name** field in the product settings. ### Step 1: Open the Product Go to the product list in TechPOS and open the product you want to edit. ### Step 2: Edit the Display Name Find the **Display Name** field. Enter the same Display Name for all products that should be grouped together. Example: Use: > Blue Dream Instead of: > Blue Dream 1g > Blue Dream 3.5g > Blue Dream 7g ### Step 3: Save the Product Save the changes. Repeat the same process for each related product that should appear as a variant. ### Step 4: Check SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0) Open the SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0) menu and confirm that the products are now grouped together as one listing with multiple options. #### Important Notes - Products are grouped only when the **Display Name** is exactly the same. - Each variant must still exist as its own product in TechPOS. - Product pricing, inventory, barcode, SKU, and weight remain separate per product. - This feature only affects how products appear on SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0). It does not merge products inside the POS. - If products are not grouping correctly, check for spelling differences, extra spaces, or different punctuation in the Display Name. #### Troubleshooting ### Products are still showing separately Check the following: - The Display Name is exactly the same for each product. - There are no extra spaces before or after the Display Name. - The spelling and punctuation match. - The products are active and available for SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0). - The products have valid inventory, if your website is configured to hide out-of-stock items. ### The wrong products are grouped together This usually happens when unrelated products have the same Display Name. To fix this, edit the Display Name for the product that should not be grouped. Example: If two different products are both named: > Blue Dream Change one to something more specific, such as: > Blue Dream Pre-Roll > Blue Dream Flower ### A variant is missing from the product page Check the individual product record and confirm: - The product is active. - The product is enabled for SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0). - The product has the same Display Name as the other variants. - The product has valid pricing. - The product has inventory available, if out-of-stock products are hidden. #### Best Practices Use clean and consistent Display Names. Good example: > Pink Kush Avoid: > Pink Kush 1g > Pink Kush - 3.5g > Pink Kush Flower 7g The size, weight, or format should be managed through the product details, not added directly into the Display Name, when the products are intended to be grouped as variants. #### Summary The Product Variant for SEO Optimized E-Commerce (V2.0) feature helps keep the online menu clean by grouping products with the same Display Name into one product listing.
