[Member](https://knowledge.techpos.ca/en/knowledge/users?hsLang=en#member) # Save Receipt Email to a Member, or Create a Member at Checkout ## What changed, in one sentence? After checkout, you can email a receipt and save that email to the member — or create a new member from the checkout screen and link them to the order. #### ** What Changed?** You can now manage member information and email receipts directly from the checkout screen after completing a sale. There are two options: - If a **member is already assigned to the sale but does not have an email address**, you can enter an email address and choose whether to save it to the member's profile. - If **no member is assigned to the sale**, you can create a new member directly from the checkout screen and link the new member to the order. #### **The Previous Process:** Previously, if a member was assigned to a sale but did not have an email address on their profile, an email entered for the receipt was only used for that receipt. It was not saved to the member's profile. If no member was assigned to the sale, **ASSIGN MEMBER** could only be used to search for an existing member. There was no option to create a new member directly from the checkout screen. #### **The New Process** You can now complete both actions directly from the checkout screen. #### **Member Already on the Sale** If a member is already assigned to the sale but does not have an email address: **EMAIL RECEIPT** → Enter Email → Choose whether to save the email to the member's profile The customer can choose to save the email for future receipts or use it only for the current receipt. #### **No Member on the Sale** If no member is assigned to the sale: **ASSIGN MEMBER** → **NEW MEMBER** You can create a new member by entering their: - First Name - Last Name - Email The new member is automatically linked to the completed order. You can then use **EMAIL RECEIPT** to send the receipt to the email address on the new member's profile. #### **Create a New Member from Checkout** Use this option when the customer is not already assigned to the sale and would like to receive an emailed receipt. ### **1. Assign a Member** After completing the sale, on the checkout screen, tap **ASSIGN MEMBER**.![](https://techposprod.blob.core.windows.net/newfeatureimages/2026_July_POS_New_Member_08.png)   ### **2. Create a New Member** Tap **NEW MEMBER**. If the customer already has a member profile, you can use **SEARCH** instead to find and assign their existing profile.![](https://techposprod.blob.core.windows.net/newfeatureimages/2026_July_POS_New_Member_09.png)  ### **3. Enter the Member's Information** Enter at least the customer's: - **First Name** - **Last Name** - **Email** Then save the information. Email the Receipt** After creating the member, tap **EMAIL RECEIPT**. The receipt will be sent to the email address saved on the new member's profile. Save an Email to an Existing Member Use this option when a member is already assigned to the sale but does not have an email address saved on their profile. #### 1. Enter the Customer's Email Enter the customer's email address and tap **FILL UP EMAIL ADDRESS**.![](https://techposprod.blob.core.windows.net/newfeatureimages/2026_July_POS_New_Member_05.png) #### 3. Choose Whether to Save the Email The system will ask whether the customer agrees to save the email address to their member profile. Choose: - **YES, SAVE TO PROFILE** – Saves the email address to the member's profile so it can be used for future receipts. - **NO, SEND RECEIPT ONLY** – Sends the receipt to the email address without saving it to the member's profile. ![](https://techposprod.blob.core.windows.net/newfeatureimages/2026_July_POS_New_Member_06.png) #### 4. Email Saved to the Member Profile If the customer selected **YES, SAVE TO PROFILE**, the email address is stored on their member profile. Future receipts can then be sent to the saved email address without requiring the employee to enter it again. ####  **Important to Remember** - A new member can now be created directly from the checkout screen. - Creating a new member from checkout automatically links the member to the completed order. - An email entered for an existing member can now be saved directly to their profile. - Customers can choose whether an email is saved to their profile or used only for the current receipt. -
