Safe Management feature is a logging application designed to log and calculate physical cash funds, stored in retailers safe/vault. Please use this guide to set up your initial safe/vault, log and maintain all counts including adjustments in and out.
From the TechPOS Dashboard go to Admin > Safe Management
Here you will access the Safe Management logging overview:
Use the filter options to filter by specific dates, types or view adjustments by specific employees.
To get started you must initially Add Manual Funds. This will be the funds currently stored in your safe and will set the initial “Current Balance”
Click the + Add Adjustment button
Set the (starting) Amount
Adjustment Type: Manually Added Funds
Notes: (optional)
Click Save to save your starting balance.
Note: Manually Added Funds can be used as your starting balance or if at times the safe has been depleted and needs to be replenished. Manually Added Funds can only be used once, if the safe is being replenished multiple times please use Adjustments +
Safe Management Overview
Your Current Balance is now set. From the Safe Management Overview, you will see your current balance set, plus any additional activity logged in the safe. The Safe Management Overview will outline the following details:
- Date: (of any adjustment activity)
- Amount: (of any adjustment)
- Adjustment: (of any adjustment amount)
- Type: (of any adjustment type)
- Employee: (employee full name)
- Notes: (note of each adjustment)
Safe Count
To log and submit a new safe count click the + Add Adjustment button
From the Safe Management Adjustment UI enter the following Safe Count details
Amount: $ (this amount is always counting the current safe balance)
Adjustment Type: Safe Count
Notes: Optional but recommended
Click Save
Your new Safe Count has been saved and stored in the Safe Management Overview. If no changes have been made to the current safe balance, your adjustment will remain 0 and there will be no changes to your Current Balance. If safe count changes the current safe balance, your adjustment will calculate the difference, accordingly.
Adjustment -
To log and submit an Adjustment – (deduction) click the + Add Adjustment button
From the Safe Management Adjustment UI enter the following “Adjustment –“ details
Amount: $ (this amount is the total amount being deducted/withdrawn from the current balance)
Adjustment Type: Adjustment -
Notes: Highly required when making any deductions from the safe
Click Save
Your new “Adjustment-“ has been saved and stored in the Safe Management Overview. The total amount deducted/withdrawn from the current balance will be calculated under the adjustment accordingly and you will notice a new Current Balance.
Adjustment +
To log and submit an Adjustment + (Addition) click the + Add Adjustment button
From the Safe Management Adjustment UI enter the following “Adjustment +” details
Amount: $ (this amount is the amount being added to the current safe balance)
Adjustment Type: Adjustment +
Notes: Highly required when making any additions to the safe
Click Save
Your new “Adjustment +” has been saved and stored in the Safe Management Overview. The total amount added to the current balance will be calculated under the adjustment accordingly and you will notice a new Current Balance.
